The Challenge
A UK recycling company was struggling with a bottleneck in its processing line.
The site was operating an Arjes 250 fitted with rubble shafts, but the configuration simply wasn’t suited to the material being processed. Throughput was well below target, causing delays across the entire operation and limiting productivity.
The recycler needed a solution, and fast.
After discussing the challenge with an experienced industry professional, one recommendation stood out above all others.

Understanding the Application First
Rather than recommending a machine straight away, our team took the time to understand exactly what the customer was processing, their production targets and the challenges they faced.
Working closely with our Southern Regional Sales Manager, Colin Irons, discussions quickly turned into practical solutions.
Based on the material and desired throughput, it became clear that the Lindner Urraco 75 would ultimately be the ideal machine.
There was just one problem.
A Urraco 75 wasn’t immediately available from the hire fleet.
Going the Extra Mile
Instead of asking the customer to wait, we found another solution.
We supplied the larger Lindner Urraco 95 so the recycler could begin processing immediately and evaluate Lindner’s performance in real operating conditions.
The results exceeded everyone’s expectations.
The customer needed to process approximately 2.5 tonnes per hour.
The Urraco 95 comfortably achieved over 10 tonnes per hour, with the loading equipment becoming the limiting factor rather than the shredder itself.
More importantly, the recycler could continue operating while planning for the long-term investment.
To support the project further, Mach Tech supplied the Urraco 95 at the same hire rate as the Urraco 75, ensuring the customer wasn’t disadvantaged while waiting for the most suitable machine.
Training That Makes a Difference
Supplying equipment is only the beginning.
To ensure the customer got the very best from the machine, Mach Tech’s Chief Engineer remained on site for two full days.
Across both shifts, operators received hands-on training covering:
- Safe and efficient machine operation
- Correct feeding techniques
- Daily inspections and preventative maintenance
- Wear management
- Troubleshooting common operational issues
By the end of the training, the team wasn’t just operating the machine. They understood how to maximise performance and minimise downtime.
Real-World Demonstrations Build Confidence
One of the biggest decisions any recycling business makes is investing in new processing equipment.
That’s why we believe customers should see machines working in genuine production environments.
Rather than arranging a carefully managed sales demonstration, we introduced the recycler to another customer already operating a Lindner Urraco 75.
This gave the team an opportunity to:
- Watch the machine process similar materials
- Speak directly with experienced operators
- Ask honest, unbiased questions
- Understand day-to-day performance from someone already using the equipment
That transparency gave the customer complete confidence in their decision.
Engineering a Machine Around the Customer
Later that year, the recycler purchased its own Lindner Urraco 75.
Before installation, Mach Tech’s engineering team customised the machine by modifying the cutting table and breaker bar specifically around the customer’s waste stream and production targets.
This tailored approach ensured the shredder delivered the exact performance required from day one.
At the same time, our team continued discussions around the customer’s wider processing line, identifying opportunities for improved material separation and exploring how a future multi-stage recycling system could increase efficiency even further.
