Lindner Launches the Diesel Merak 2800 DT at IFAT 2026

The recycling industry saw another major innovation unveiled at IFAT Munich 2026 as Lindner officially launched the new diesel-powered Merak 2800 DT, expanding the flexibility and application range of the popular Merak shredder platform.

The launch marks an important step forward for operators looking for a high-performance mobile shredding solution that can operate independently from a fixed electrical supply, making it ideal for remote sites, temporary operations, and demanding recycling applications.

A New Drive Concept for Greater Flexibility

The new diesel Lindner Merak 2800 DT complements the existing electric Merak range, giving customers greater operational flexibility depending on site requirements and infrastructure availability.

Designed as a mobile single-shaft shredder, the Merak 2800 DT has been engineered to maintain the high throughput and consistent performance operators expect from the Merak platform while introducing the benefits of diesel-powered mobility.

One of the key advantages of the new diesel-powered machine is the ability to work without requiring a dedicated mains power connection, transformer, or separate diesel generator. This reduces infrastructure costs and allows operators to deploy the machine quickly and efficiently across a wide range of recycling environments.

Built for Multiple Waste Streams

The Merak 2800 DT has been developed to handle a broad range of material streams including:

  • Waste wood
  • Commercial and industrial waste
  • Plastics
  • Municipal solid waste
  • Bulky waste applications

With interchangeable screen configurations and multiple rotor concepts available, the machine can produce different output sizes depending on customer requirements and processing applications.

Innovation on Display at IFAT 2026

IFAT Munich continues to be one of the world’s leading trade shows for recycling and environmental technologies, and Lindner used the event to showcase several major innovations across its shredding and recycling portfolio.

Alongside the diesel Merak 2800 DT, Lindner also presented the new Urraco Evo series and the fourth-generation Micromat Series IV, highlighting the company’s continued focus on performance, efficiency, and long-term reliability.

The launch of the diesel Merak demonstrates Lindner’s response to evolving industry challenges including rising energy costs, increasingly complex waste streams, and the demand for more adaptable recycling solutions.
